CHANGES CHANGES CHANGES!!!VOTE FOR YOUR TOP FIVE ALBUMS!!VOTE FOR YOUR TOP FIVE ALBUMS!!I’ve often wanted to award points to my 4th and 5th favourites especially on strong months for releases and wasn’t able due to my own rules and they end up as honourable mentions.Vote for your favourite five albums. Make your selections clear please as it makes tallying up the scores easier. If you list a whole bunch of albums without making your selections clear I’ll take the first five mentioned as 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th and 5th. No joint positions please. Sorry to be a pedant.Your album of the month will get five points, 2nd placed album four points, 3rd placed album three points, 4th placed album two points and 5th one point. If you name only one album I’ll give that five points.

If you name two albums I’ll score them with five and four points etc. You get the message.Always a lot of great recommendations from you guys about albums that I’ve missed or overlookedMy choices:. Jenny Lewis - On The Line. Self Esteem - Compliments Please. CHAI - Punk.

Nilufer Yanya - Miss Universe. Westkust - WestkustJenny Lewis’ album is just lovely. A brilliant follow up to to The Voyager.I wasn’t expecting Self Esteem to be so good.

Brilliant live too. Her track “In Time” is my favourite of the month. Please forgive any shameless bumps of this thread during the week. I’ll keep this thread open until Sunday 7th April and so you’ll have over a week to listen to tomorrow’s releases before choosing.Vote now!! (Or later in the week) but make your choices clear please. SASAMI - SASAMIThat’s it for me for now, I’m hoping to discover more through other people’s lists. This album is great though and a really nice surprise given that I’d never heard of her before. I’m struggling to find the right words to describe it, it covers a lot more ground than it initially seems so any comparison I try to come up with falls way short.

Temperaments

I think if you like by Wilco but wish it had a very light shoegaze touch, this is worth a shot. Some of the guitar kind of reminds me of a more melodic, sadder, more downbeat, softer Speedy Ortiz too, with a little bit of Hebronix thrown in maybe? And has shades of by Silversun Pickups.Basically if you like sad, downbeat but not boring, hypnotic, melodic music, give this a shot. It’s gotten decent reviews, but I think it’s one of those that’s going to get looked back on much more fondly as time goes on and as she (hopefully) releases more music. Helado Negro - This Is How You Smile. Malik Djoudi - Temperaments.

Emily Wells - This World Is Too for You. Lomelda - M For Empathy. Amanda Palmer - There Will Be No Intermission. Die Heiterkeit - Was Passiert Ist. Teho Teardo - Grief Is The Thing With FlowersI have listened to the Helado Negro album so much this month. It’s absolutely lovely. I think Sufjan plays piano on one of the songs, and that’s not even remotely close to being one of the best things about the album.Malik Djoudi was a late discovery, after going through The Great Escape line-up and then seeing he was playing in London the next day.

One of my favourite gigs of the year and the album works so well together. French singing electro sounds. American Football. Sasami. Helado Negro. The Comet is Coming. Self EsteemA fine month of nice surprises- I never expected the American Football album to be that good - it’s a proper AOTY contender - and I’d never heard of Sasami, Helado Negro or Self Esteem before.

It’s a strong month when new Lambchop and Robert Forster albums don’t make my top 5.If I could count the five songs Tierra Whack released separately this month as an album they would definitely be towards the top of this list too.Mary Lattimore & Mac McCaughan: New Rain DuetsHarp meets synth. Might be my favourite ML record to date.Maja S. Ratkje - SultMusically reminiscent of early 70s era Nico harmonium (?) with some, I’m going to say elegiac, vocals.Andrew Bird - My Finest Work Yet.He whistles, he rides a bike, he’s Dr. Waiting for the record to arrive though so tbh haven’t actually heard this beyond the preview tracks.Ela Orleans - Movies for Ears.Compilation so not strictly new but definitely a nice introduction if you don’t know her stuff. AllMusic calls it lo-fi pop, which seems fair.Marja Ahti - Vegetal NegativesElectronic & field noise noodling?

Not a keeper for me but I enjoyed giving it a couple of listens and will probably give it a couple more.

.Fadzil, Fariza; Shamsuddin, Khadijah; Wan Puteh, Sharifa Ezat2016-07-01To briefly describe the postpartum practices among the three major ethnic groups in Malaysia and to identify commonalities in their traditional postpartum beliefs and practices. This narrative review collated information on traditional postpartum practices among Malaysian mothers through a literature search for published research papers on traditional postpartum practices in Malaysia. This review shows that Malaysian mothers have certain postpartum practices that they considered to be important for preventing future ill health. Despite the perceived differences in intra-ethnic postpartum practices, most Malaysian mothers, although from different ethnicities, share similarities in their postpartum regimens and practices in terms of beliefs and adherence to food taboos, use of traditional postpartum massage and traditional herbs, and acknowledgment of the role of older female family members in postpartum care. Health care providers should be aware of multiethnic traditional postpartum practices and use the commonalities in these practices as part of their postpartum care regimen.Abdul Ghani Radiah2018-01-01Full Text Available Postpartum care is highly important to prevent maternal and infant morbidity. In Malaysia, there are several traditional postpartum care practices by mothers. Different states adopted different ways to perform those practices.

In spite of long and established practices in Malaysia, its effect and safety profile is not well understood. This study aims to gain an understanding of the traditional practices that Malay women follow in relation to postpartum care and the rationales underpinning such practices.

A historical approach to medical science written by Iranian scholars could help in identifying excellent ideas and provide valuable information in this field for proper application. The aim of the current study was to introduce some mucilage uses derived from traditional Persian medicine (TPM). Methods: In this literature review, we assessed a few main traditional manuscripts of Iranian medicine, including the books Al Havi, Canon of Medicine, Qarabadine-kabir, Zakhireh-ye Khwarazm shahi, Tuhfat ul-Momineen and Makhzan-ul-Adwiah.

Release

The word “loab” in the aforementioned books were searched and all data about mucilage compounds were collected. Results: The use of medicinal plants containing mucilage in Iran dates back to ancient times. In traditional Persian manuscripts, mucilage is one of the most cited applications of medicinal plants for therapeutic objectives. There are various mucilage-producing plants in TPM such as Malva silvestris, Linum usitissimum, Althaea officinalis, Plantago psyllium, Descureania sophia and Ziziphus vulgaris. They have been used traditionally via oral or topical routes for respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, musculoskeletal, and genital systems as well as skin disorders. Certain applications are unique and promising for today’s chronic ailments. Conclusion: A scientific assessment of these valuable manuscripts would provide a better insight into the thoughts of the past sages and applicable for clinical use of the mucilage compounds.

This may lead to research opportunities in the future. From different existing correlations for evaluation the ECR, the correlations of Baker-Just, Cathcart and VNIINM (Bibilashvili) are discussed here. Results, obtained by these correlations, are illustrated for typical and atypical LOCA courses analysed for the WWER 440 plant. An approach to assess these correlations from the viewpoint of violation of the observed criterion is presented. This approach is based on determination of the temperature vers. Time of exposition, when the criterion limit is reached. Reasons leading to necessity of alternative criterion proposal are summarised. This criterion for LOCA events evaluation, including corresponding correlation, is proposed on the basis of the long-term experimental research of cladding materials at UJP Praha.

The computational results, obtained according to this alternative criterion, are illustrated for the same courses of LOCA events as for traditional criteria and traditional correlations. Proposed criterion is also confronted with the other discussed criteria in accordance with mentioned approach presented in this paper. The characteristic experimental results and key findings are summarised. They substantiate and support the proposed alternative criterion. An advantage of the criterion is its independence on ECR, on hydrogen and oxygen content and on oxidation history, and its applicability to current Zr-based alloy cladding materials as well. This applicability is kept while preserving the simplicity of the criterion using.
