I have been playing RTK since RTK2 on the super NES. I've played them all. I gave up on thinking KOEI would release 13, so seeing the release for US was exciting.

I read a few reviews on Steam and was disheartened by them. I took a chance anyways And I am very pleased with 13. I think it may be the best RTK to date. The depth and complexity of relationships go beyond any other reiteration. As you probably know, the RTK series, as is the novel, is predicated on relationships. If you understand this going in, then the game will not be a disappointment. The other major engines of the game are city building that will eventually lead to empire building and leading troops into battle.

13 has not disappointed in either realm. The AI, as had always been a complaint concerning combat, can still be easily exploited in. One of the best games ever on any platform. We played this thing for about 20,000 hours during Gulf War I and all the guys agreed. Very addictive and one of those 'all-nighter' games. The strategy aspect is nearly perfect and there is even a real adrenaline factor.

“Live the Three Kingdoms with extreme Officer Play! 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13' celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the series and has achieved the greatest advances in the history of the series.”. Koei Tecmo is bringing Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII to PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam in North America on July 5 and Europe on July 8 in celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary, the. Jan 27, 2016  'The ultimate depiction of the Three Kingdom. A heroic drama of a gathering of Legends. "With this as the concept behind Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13, we have compiled an experience that will immerse you even deeper into the world of the Three Kingdoms, with "human drama," seen through the interactions of the.

Placing armies, battle and managing countries can be very.um.' Nail biting' and mistakes can be devastating. If you've ever played Risk on PS2 this is similar but much, much better.and it doesn't cheat the way Risk does. Easy to learn.difficult to master and proves newer is not always better. First, let me just say that I'm glad there are other reviewers/players out there that are enjoying this game.Secondly, I didn't know there was a multiplayer option so I thank all those that have clued us in on that.Thirdly, my impressions on the game. I bought this game when it first came out and enjoyed it from the start. It seems daunting at first, but if you give it time(and refer to the manual if you're a newbie), the options/controls become second nature soon enough.

The graphics could be better, but anyone who puts gameplay above graphics will be richly rewarded. The game has a good mix of strategy(turn-based battles/diplomacy), simulation(simplistic resource management), and rpg(character development) elements.

The best part of the game is probably the role-playing aspect of the game. Pick (or create) any character.and do whatever you want to him/her. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 is an excellent game. Like ROTK7, you can play any character in the game rather than just the ruler. The game follows the magic of the book, which heros that have herculean strength and some even have magical abilities.

Significant characters from the previous games have had their abilities changed to better reflect the book which the game is based. For example, Cao Cao have great Charm, Political wisdom and intelligence, but him war experience is somewhat average, reflecting the fact that he was more of a strategist than a front line soldier.I only had a few problems with the game. Titles, which officers could be given as the ruler's rank increased in ROTK7 have been removed.

I liked being able to give my officers different titles. Also, I think there should be more intrigue in the game. Hardly any officers rebel against their. Koei's Romance of the Three Kingdoms series has always been a staple in my video game collection. Ever since when the first Romance captured the essence of novel for the first time to today Koei has been pumping out a new version about every 2 years. RTK 9 is arguably the greatest version of the game released and here's why.Since RTK 1-6 Koei has always stuck with the option of playing as the ruler in the game while adding better graphics, battle tactics and maps and various forms of military strategy with the game.

When they released RTK 7 Koei decided to allow players the option of play as any character in the game, while an amusing experiment it doesn't work for a variety of reasons. If you choose to play as anyone other than the ruler, you'll find the game never progresses. Ever since Romance of the 3 Kingdoms first came out on the Nintendo I have been addicted to the series.

While many kids my age at the time were playing Mario and Zelda, I was sitting in front of my TV trying to conquer China with historical figures such as Cao Cao, and Liu Bei. Needless to say, my friends didn't exactly encourage me to bring the game with me when I came over. You would think a series such as this would struggle, especially on consoles. While it doesn't set sales records by any means, it does have a hardcore following. Enough in fact that many years later we now have eleven versions of the game. The tenth version of the game on the ps2 may be the most complex and rewarding, yet it does have a few flaws which annoy at times.

This is probably my second favorite Romance of the three kingdoms game. That probably doesn't mean much since I have only played three of them. II, III & IV. II is probably my favorite. This game is a close second. It is more intricate and the the graphics are better but that doesn't mean the game is better. Probably the worst part about the game is the ending.

One of the worst endings I have seen. Once your general conquers the land you see him on a wall overlooking his troops. The thing is, no matter who your ruler was the cinema has him looking like Cao Cao so you might as well play the game as him. My favorite feature is the create an officer option but it is hard to create a super officer like Cao Cao. Romance of the three kingdoms for the psx plays similar to the snes version. That being said means its a great game.

The graphics arent as good as one would hope for on a psx, but the game isnt about the graphics its about gameplay and fun. And it is fun for people who like long and strategic games. This game will take a lot of your time and make u think how to use each of your turns. Do u increase your military might of try to keep everyone happy. The game makes use of so many menus and sometimes u can get lost in them. The game has no learning curve and no tutorials so if u never played a romance of the three kingdoms game u will be lost and it will take u a little while to figure out. I’ve played a few strategy games and definitely a fan of the genre, so I was pretty happy the game got localized. In regards to gameplay, it’s similar to games like Total War Rome and other Koei strategy game like Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, except more simplified.

You choose a time period and then after that a clan or make one with created or extra officers. Once you’re in the game, you build up stats of your towns according to what you think you need, do quest objectives, use diplomacy although the only practical use it has is to take out a bigger clan, completing a quest or if you’re trying to get the trophy where one requirements has you form diplomacy with the imperial court to get all the skills/titles, and take over territories not too difficult if you have strong officers in your clan initially and it. The game is good, as they all are. If your a koei fan, or a true war sim fan you will like the game very much. Unfortunately though for the R3K fans, the feel doesn't seem to be there. When you used to get truly into the game, and live it. You know play the game for 2 days straight, finally beat it and come back to play as a different ruler or in a different scenerio the next day.

It just doesn't seem to happen anymore.I like where Koei is going, unfortunately this is like the first versions of any Windows system, it just doesn't work right. They most likely should have waited a while refined the way the game operates and tried then. Unforntunately everything is trial and error.I would recommend trying Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV or wait till.
